ENTELECHY
The beauty, strangeness and awe experienced within the mind in the presence of an "Other." Light and dark, life and death, self and soul, expressed in burnt dark wood and refined white clay, and the worlds that can be created on rice paper with the simple technique of suminagashi.
Within this body of work are the Lokas and Talas, seven pairs of relief sculptures. In Hinduism, lokas refers to worlds of spiritual consciousness, with the talas being the corresponding physical manifestations of the same realities.
